Ralph Niemeyer ➥ Mentorship

In the world of art, talent and luck alone is not always enough. Guidance, mentorship, and exposure to a variety of techniques and perspectives are crucial in shaping an artist's potential.

With more than three decades of experience as production designer, creative director, art director, concept artist, cinematographer, set designer and gaffer, I have worked on some of the most famous and successful movies in the German-speaking world, such as Heidi, Maya the Bee, Laura's Star and Lars The Little Polar Bear, which have garnered numerous international awards, including the German Film Prize, the Grimme Prize, an Emmy Award nomination and the Gold Panda Award. 

I worked as a lecturer at the HFF (Filmuniversität Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF) and as a consultant for Feature Film Studios, such as Studio 100 and Motion Works. And each of my roles as art director and supervisor is like a kind of mentorship to get the best out of everyone in the team and to create great and successful films together.
