Many of the film projects I worked on were inspired by certain styles or artists. With Mia and Me, for example, the focus was on Gustav Klimt. But of course also other artists from the Vienna Secession. There were elements everywhere that were based on the works of Klimt. Whether in objects, clothing, jewelry, architecture or even nature. Even the flowers were often just stylized circles and the treetops were inspired by the Art Nouveau roof of the Vienna Secession.
Other films are inspired by further great classical artists. For example Antoni Gaudi, Pieter Bruegel the Elder, Ivan Ivanovich Shishkin, Claude Monet, Albert Bierstadt and Oscar Mulley.
Of course, Ken Adem, who not only shaped the term production design, but also the film style of an entire generation, is also a great source of inspiration.
And finally, of course, there are many contemporary artists who unfortunately receive little attention outside the comic and film industry. Möbius and Craig Mullins, alias Goodbrush, are perhaps the best known.
And with each new project, it is a great pleasure to discover new themes.
