It's about more than just the work...
It was fantastic that I could work as the Production Designer and Art Director for the teaser of Studio 100's Feature Film project Flamingo Flamenco.

But what does that have to do with you?
It is the story of a flamingo set in the Fuente de Piedra lagoon in Spain. The lagoon is home to one of the largest flocks of flamingos in Europe. Or should I say, it was once the biggest colony?
According to the director and coordinator of the reserve, the year 2023 was unfortunately so dry that the flamingos could not breed here and therefore there was no colony. And there will only be a new colony in 2024 if there is enough rain in spring. Otherwise, the flamingos will probably look for other areas where they can find enough food to raise their brood.
So let's hope & do something as part of the SDGs2030 and the Paris Agreement that the colony will still be living in the lagoon when the film is released in cinemas. And even far beyond.
About the KEY VISUAL
It's about flamenco. So it's about dancing. And so I turned the shore of the lagoon into a stage. With a strong backlight that looks as if the characters are illuminated by spotlights and the stars are so strongly blurred that they become large points of light that look like spotlights on a real stage.
The character modeling wasn't quite finished at the time, which is why I painted most of the feathers and only used the 3D model in parts.

It was a pleasure to see my work at the EFM (European Film Market) as part of the Berlin Film Festival 2024 in the lobby of the Marriot Hotel.
