It was a big challenge to create a whole wold for a feature film project, that covers all aspects of storytelling, a nice link to the original book illustrations of Klaus Baumgarten, stereo 3D, lighting, rendering up to final pipeline and budget necessities. Starting with traditional 2D concept work to get a first idea of the world and switching pretty early to rough set design/set modeling, done directly in 3D. Developing technics and workflows, to scatter landscape elements in a unique way and even preparing final camera positions, to speed up the previz. Setting up the camera lenses, to get a nice ‚emotional distance‘ and a good result in stereo. And paint over some of the rough set renderings, to get a good reference for the final lighting and comp department.

So I ended up with a very wide range of different jobs, to bring my vision on screen.
